Brimfield Antique Shows 2016 are now a thing of the past. Although we operate a little shop in a small Vermont Village, we still do several antique shows every year. This post is a wrap-up of Brimfield and the shows of 2016.
Our Painted Pieces
Brimfield Antique Show May 2016 was a great show with record crowds almost every day. The weather cooperated with plenty of sunshine and lots of high temperatures.
May is such a great show because everyone is so ready to get out and go junking again. Spring is alive with flowers and plants in many of the booths. The dresser above was finished with Layla’s Mint and Marzipan Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint. We finished it and sold it at a local antique show in August, Orford Flea Market, Orford New Hampshire.
I love this farmhouse hutch. It is handmade probably circa 1940’s. When we purchased it, it was without the wooden countertop. We re-purposed an old roll-top desk that we had in parts to make the oiled counter top. After sanding the oak top till it was super smooth, we applied three coats of hemp oil.
LOVE it dressed in Eulalie’s Sky Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint.
Antiques that Still Work Hard
We purchased this 11 foot work table at auction and thought it would be just the best table for barn weddings. It did sell as a dining room table during Brimfield Antique Shows 2016. We did have to cut it down a bit to get it in the dining room where it will live now. Don’t you just love the 1800’s wooden vise?
Loved these deep Farmhouse Drawers the day I first saw them and although we took them to Brimfield in May they didn’t sell till June at the shop. I always try to use the original hardware and this piece came with great hardware already speckled with the color paint I had decided to use.
We will start getting ready for Brimfield Antique Shows 2017 sometime in March 2017 but for right now we still have a few shows left and are very thankful for customers and friends that made Brimfield Antique Shows 2016 a great success!
